Why change requests exist
Profile integrity is important for trust-based matchmaking. For that reason, sensitive profile updates are reviewed by admin before becoming visible to others.
How to request updates
- Go to My Account and edit allowed profile fields.
- Profession is a dropdown maintained by admin lookup lists.
- Education is now managed as an Education History list where you can add multiple degrees and choose one as your primary degree.
- For each degree, Major, Institution, and Year Completed are optional.
- Basic Details now includes Kulam and Gothram fields.
- In Edit Profile → Basic Details, you can upload a Community Certificate next to Caste. The upload accepts PDF/image/any file type and is sent as a profile edit request for admin approval.
- In public profile view, when a community certificate exists, the Caste row shows Open community certificate. Click it to open in a popup viewer.
- In My Account and public profile view, when a community certificate is available, Caste shows an Open community certificate link. Click it to open the document in an in-page popup viewer.
- Jathagam (Horoscope) section is available in profile edit with fields like Rasi, Nakshatra, Padam, Lagnam, Dosham statuses, birth-time accuracy, and notes.
- Jathagam section in both My Account and public profile detail now shows DOB Date & Time from profile for quick identification.
- In Work & Employment, the field label is Current Job Title (internal key:
position_name). - Employment Type options include Salaried (Private/Government), Business Owner, Family Business, Self Employed, Professional Practice, Student, Not Yet Working, and Home Maker.
- Company is required for Salaried/Business/Family Business/Professional Practice. Current Job Title is required for salaried types.
- Income fields now use structured format: Amount + Unit (Thousand/Lakh/Crore) + Period (Per Month/Per Year). In Work & Employment this is shown as Income.
- Family assets now has two parts: Assets Value (Amount + Unit) and Assets Details (for example: 1 house, 2 rental buildings).
- In Father Details and Mother Details, extra fields (occupation/income/phone/native place) are shown only when status is Alive.
- In Who Can View Me, you can request audience updates for caste, religion, mother tongue, marital status, diet, education level, profession, and family status.
- Additional audience controls are available in Profile Audience: Working Status (Working / Not Working), Family Assets threshold, Location (Residence) with mode (All / India-only / NRI) and optional country/state/district filters (shown as compact searchable selectors), and Jathagam audience filters for Rasi, Lagnam, Nakshatra, Sevvai Dosham, Rahu/Ketu Dosham, and Naga Dosham.
- In address edit sections, district is available only for India addresses and district options change based on the selected India state.
- If your subscription is Expired or payment is still pending activation, account change requests are locked until renewal/activation by admin. This includes profile edits, Profile Audience, My Feed View, and Request Actions. Exception: when subscription is Expired, you can still submit Permanently hide profile (already married).
- In Request Actions, use Request Verification to ask admin for a profile verification badge. After approval, a verified icon is shown on your display photo in Matches, Profile, and My Account. The badge shows a compact tick by default and expands on hover to show Verified. Hover hint: Profile verified. Details reviewed by admin.
- If an approved Profile edit changes profile fields (for example city, work details, family details, Jathagam, etc.), your profile verification badge is reset and can be requested again.
- When your profile is currently verified, My Account → Edit Profile shows a warning badge that approved profile edits will remove verification automatically.
- Changes in Profile Audience, My Feed View, and Request Actions do not reset the profile verification badge.
- In Request Actions, use Request Jathagam Verification to ask admin to verify your Jathagam and enable the green verified tick.
- In Request Actions, use Request Profile Boost to ask admin for temporary ranking priority in Matches. While boost is active, your profile is prioritized in recommended sorting for the configured duration.
- In Matches, boosted profiles show a small trending icon on the photo. It uses the same expanding badge pattern as the verified badge: icon by default, then expands on hover to show Boosted.
- In My Account → Profile, use Request Profile PDF to ask admin for download access. After approval, the same card changes to Download Profile PDF.
- Profile PDF now has an icon button with hover hint download pdf profile. Clicking it opens a floating details card with current status, remaining downloads, pending state, and request/download action.
- Profile PDF actions are color-coded for clarity: green when download is available and amber when request is needed or pending.
- In the My Account header, Open Help is now an icon-only button; hover to see the label and click to open Help docs.
- Profile PDF follows platform policy. If disabled in platform settings, request/download controls stay hidden.
- Each approval grants a limited number of downloads. After limit is used or after you submit profile edits/photos, request approval again.
- When you click request, the card clearly shows pending state until admin approves it.
- In profile detail page and in My Account, Jathagam verification now appears as a status badge on the right side of Jathagam (Horoscope) title (instead of a separate field row): green when verified, red when not verified.
- Jathagam document action now uses Open Jathagam with the same link styling as Open community certificate, and opens in an in-page popup viewer.
- In My Account → Profile → Edit Profile, the old helper line about sharing visibility in Jathagam section was removed for a cleaner view.
- In My Account → Profile → Jathagam, when status is Not Verified, a small quick link appears to jump directly to the Jathagam verification request action.
- In every audience multi-select, at least one option must stay selected. Empty audience selections are blocked to prevent accidental invisibility.
- Default audience behavior for new profiles: caste/religion/mother tongue default to your own profile values, and marital status/diet/education level/profession/family status/working status/Jathagam filters default to all.
- Audience by annual income is optional threshold control. Default is All incomes. You can set Greater than or equal to or Lower than or equal to with amount, unit, and period.
- Audience by family assets is also an optional threshold control with comparison + amount + unit. Leave all empty to allow any family assets range.
- Audience cards are collapsible. Expand a card to see a clear Who can view now summary before submitting changes.
- Who Can View Me now includes an Audience Dashboard with Quick/Advanced mode and a Find a setting search box, so users can quickly jump to the right audience section without scrolling through all cards.
- Matches sorting now defaults to Recommended (hybrid ranking). You can still switch to other sort modes from the sort menu in Matches.
- At the top of Profile Audience, a visibility chart shows your current visibility percentage and a preview for submitted audience requests awaiting admin approval.
- My Account now shows a sticky warning when your profile is not yet visible in Matches. The warning lists missing required fields (configured in platform settings) and top visibility issue reason.
- On My Account → Profile, this Match Visibility warning auto-collapses into a compact sticky banner while you scroll, so it stays visible without taking too much space, with tuned anti-flicker hysteresis and proper placement below the top navigation.
- Chart statuses are shown as Current and Preview (Unsaved). When there is no submitted pending audience request, preview is visually softened to indicate no pending changes.
- When there is no pending audience request, the impact message shows a neutral prompt instead of change/compare text.
- If an audience change request is already pending admin approval, preview stays active and reflects that pending request instead of showing a softened state.
- Audience requests are field-specific. Example: if caste audience is pending approval, you can still submit religion, mother tongue, or other audience requests.
- Current always shows your approved live audience settings. It changes only after admin approves your request.
- Visibility preview is shown as percentage only. Exact profile counts are not shown.
- After you submit an audience request, a short impact message explains if your preview will increase or decrease who can view your profile.
- Use the single expand/collapse icon at the top of Profile Audience to quickly open or close every audience section.
- Audience card open/close state is remembered on refresh for this browser.
- Tab navigation in My Account updates the URL as
?tab=profile|audience|actions|feed_view|inbox, so you can copy and share a direct tab link. - Inbox now supports admin announcements. A bell icon in the top header shows unread count; click it to preview messages and open the full My Account → Inbox tab.
- Inside My Account → Inbox, use sub-tabs Requests & Replies and General Updates. Each unread message has Mark as read, and each sub-tab has Mark all as read.
- Header inbox popup now shows only unread General Updates (top 2 latest). Read items are hidden there, and Mark all read is disabled when nothing is unread.
- Inbox sub-tab counters now show unread message counts only (not total messages).
- Both Inbox sub-tabs are paginated. Requests & Replies and General Updates each keep their own page navigation.
- New inbox announcements trigger a small popup preview automatically (device-level toggle available in the bell panel).
- Your current Profile ID is visible in My Account and profile cards. If your record came from an older website, optional Legacy Profile ID is also shown. In My Account, this row is always visible and will display - until assigned by admin. In Matches and profile header, legacy ID appears as a highlighted badge for easier scan.
- Checkbox groups now include Check all and Uncheck all actions for faster selection.
- Request Hide Profile is temporary and auto-expires based on platform policy (default: 30 days). After expiry, profile visibility is restored automatically.
- When temporary hide is active, the hide card shows exact remaining time as auto-unhidden in X days.
- When your profile is currently hidden, the same audience card action changes to Request Unhide Profile so you can send reactivation request directly from the same card (no separate admin contact step needed).
- In Request Actions, you can request Do-Not-Disturb (DND). While DND is active, others can still dislike your profile, but likes are blocked until DND is turned off or expires.
- Submit your requested change.
- Your request enters admin review queue.
Privacy settings (My Account → Settings)

- If photo privacy is approved, profile photos appear blurred with a Privacy Mode badge.
- While photo privacy is active, photo expand/viewer is disabled in profile detail.
- If Hide Jathagam is approved, Jathagam fields remain visible as masked/blurred values to public viewers (instead of removing the whole section).
- If Hide Jathagam Document Only (or Hide Jathagam) is approved, the Jathagam document action is shown as a disabled non-openable link for public viewers.
